Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method for coating or impregnating a catalyst carrier (30) comprising inner cavities. The aim of the invention is to provide a method for coating or impregnating a porous catalyst carrier (30), by which means porous catalyst carriers (30) can be homogeneously coated or impregnated with a minimum loss of coating dispersion or impregnating solution. To this end, the inventive method comprises the following steps: a) the catalyst carrier (30) comprising inner surfaces is introduced into a chamber (20) in which a flow is generated by suction and low pressure prevails; b) a coating dispersion or an impregnating solution is introduced into the chamber (20); c) a mixture of air and coating dispersion or air and impregnating solution is formed; and d) the mixture obtained in step c) is continuously guided through the catalyst carrier (30).
