The device has an adjusting device (4) designed as a hand lever, and connected with a frame area (3) of a commercial vehicle body. A free end (16) of the adjusting device is inserted into a recess of a stanchion profile (2). The adjusting device stands in effective connection with the stanchion profile in the locked condition and not in the unlocked condition of the stanchion. The adjusting device has a stop at the stanchion profile side and provided parallel to the stanchion profile in the locked condition of the stanchion.
