The radial fan (1) has a blower wheel (8), a housing (2) which receives a rotor (6) and a stator (5) of an electrical drive (4) of the blower wheel shaft (7), and a cooling system. Paths (30, 37) for two cooling mediums (Ki, K2) are provided in the housing. The second cooling medium is cooled by the first cooling medium by means of the housing. The paths are separated from each other by intact material walls (40) of the housing. The cooling is driven from the gas of divided low gas stream (T), which can be consolidated. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Radialgebläse (1), bevorzugt hochtouriges Radialgebläse, mit einem Laufrad (8) und einem Gehäuse (2), wobei das Gehäuse (2) einen Rotor (6) und einen Stator (5) eines Elektroantriebes (4) der Laufradwelle (7) aufnimmt und eine Kühlung vorgesehen ist. Um ein Radialgebläse der in Rede stehenden Art insbesondere hinsichtlich der erforderlichen Kühlleistung weiter zu verbessern, wird vorgeschlagen, dass die Kühlung insbesondere des Antriebs (4) durch einen aus dem zu verdichtenden Gas abgeteilten Teilgasstrom (T) gegeben ist.
