Anhydrous, self-warming skin-cleaning composition, useful e.g. as make-up remover or shower gel, contains salt with negative enthalpy of solubility, abrasive and surfactants

Anhydrous self-warming skin-cleaning composition (C) that when mixed with water releases heat of hydration comprises a polyol, surfactant(s) including foaming surfactant(s), a salt with a negative dissolution enthalpy, thickener and abrasive. Anhydrous self-warming skin-cleaning composition (C) that when mixed with water releases heat of hydration comprises, by weight: (A) at least 30% of at least one 2-9C alcohol with 2-6 hydroxy groups; poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with 3-20 ethylene oxide (EO) units; poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) and/or addition products of EO and PPG, all water soluble; (B) at least 1% at least one anionic, zwitterionic, ampholytic or nonionic surfactant (II), at least being a foaming surfactant; (C) at least 5% water-soluble salt (III) with a negative enthalpy of dissolution in water; (D) at least 0.1% (in)organic thickener (IV); and (E) at least 0.1% organic, water-insoluble and mechanically stable abrasive with mean particle diameter 50-400 micron. An independent claim is also included for a composition (C1) comprising 1-90wt.% of a cosmetic and/or dermatological composition (A), optionally containing water, and 90-10wt.% of (C), where (A) and (C) are stored in separate compartments of a single package.
