Zusammenfassung:	The control method has the opening and closing movement of the valve closure element (39) controlled within a regulation region, in dependence on the pressure difference between the input pressure at the feed opening (34) and the output pressure at the discharge opening (37) of the flow path within the expansion valve housing (33), such that the opening cross-section between the valve closure element and the valve seat (41) is altered continuously in dependence on the pressure difference. An independent claim for an expansion valve for an automobile air-conditioning installation is also included. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Expansionsventil und ein Verfahren zur Steuerung eines Expansionsventils, bei dem die Öffnungs- und Schließbewegung des Ventilschließgliedes (39) in Abhängigkeit der Druckdifferenz eingestellt ist, die in einer Zuführöffnung (34) hochdruckseitig und in einer Abführöffnung (37) niederdruckseitig anliegt.
