Zusammenfassung:	The method measures distances on the basis of a light or optical signal which is emitted, reflected by an object to be measured and then detected. A mirror is used to reflect the light. The mirror is varied e.g. in its position by control from a control unit. The mirror is a micromechanical mirror. Preferably, the distance is measured by measuring the time difference between transmitting and receiving the reflected optical signal. Independent claims also cover an apparatus and component for use in such a method. Es wird ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Entfernungsmessung, insbesondere in Verbindung mit Kraftfahrzeugen vorgeschlagen, bei welchem ein mikromechanischer Spiegel, dessen Position von einer Steuereinheit veränderbar ist, eingesetzt wird.
