Silylated silica (I) with less than 0.6 silicon-bonded hydroxy (SiOH) groups per nm of BET surface area is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) production of (I) by reacting hydrophilic silica with a silylating agent and then removing the silylating agent and by-products; (2) (I)-containing toners, developers, charge control agents and flow improvers for powder systems; (3) crosslinkable polymer and resin compositions containing (I).
