Ribbed pipe, for connecting units, e.g. pumps, to carry liquids, has sealing structures at the rib peaks and/or valleys, to give a self-sealing connection when pushed into a connector
The self-sealing ribbed pipe (10), with spaced ring ribs, has sealing structures at some rib peaks (12) and/or gaps (14) between them, extending radially in or out from their contours. The sealing structure (18a,18b) has a chamfer (20a,2b) on the longitudinal section of the rib peaks/valleys, at an...

Zusammenfassung: | The self-sealing ribbed pipe (10), with spaced ring ribs, has sealing structures at some rib peaks (12) and/or gaps (14) between them, extending radially in or out from their contours. The sealing structure (18a,18b) has a chamfer (20a,2b) on the longitudinal section of the rib peaks/valleys, at an acute angle to the axial line (16) of the pipe. The self-sealing ribbed pipe (10), with concentric and spaced ring ribs, has sealing structures at least at some of the rib peaks (12) and/or the gaps (14) between them, and which extend radially outwards or inwards from their contours. The sealing structure (18a,18b) has at least one angled chamfer (20a,2b), on the axial longitudinal section of the rib peaks/valleys, at an acute angle to the axial line (16) of the cylindrical pipe. When the pipe is pushed into a connecting pipe, the sealing structures bear against the inner surface of the connection with a sealing action.
