Arrangement for scattering material onto advancing band (2) to form mat, comprises material storage vessel (5), dosing unit (6) for scattering material onto roller unit (9,10), and upper and lower roller levels. Lower roller level has fine and coarse material scattering unit (12). The roller speeds of upper level are chosen to separate fine and coarse material. An arrangement for scattering material, e.g. wood shavings, onto an advancing band (2) to form a mat, in the production of fibre or wood material tiles, comprises a storage vessel (5) for the material, a dosing unit (6) for scattering the material onto a roller unit (9,10), and upper and lower roller levels. The lower roller level has a fine and a coarse material scattering unit (12), while the upper level is located above the fine material scattering unit. The dosing unit scatters the material onto the upper level so that a thin layer is formed. The roller speeds of the upper level are chosen so the fine material is separated from the coarse material, and the coarse material is thrown onto the coarse scattering roller. The rotational speed of the scattering rollers depends on the material thrown onto the rollers.
