The hinge fitting for a motor vehicle's seat includes a guard (21) which over the whole range of possible angular positions covers the hinge fitting in the radial direction with regard to the pivot point (14). The guard is constructed as a separate component in the form of a flexible band fastened to the first part (5) of the fitting and encompassing the second part (8). With a pivoting movement of the two parts of the fitting the guard executes a movement relative to the two parts of the fitting. At least one deflection element (24) or guide element (26) is provided in the region of the second part for the guard. An Independent claim is included for a motor vehicle's seat equipped with the proposed hinge fitting.
