Zusammenfassung:The assembly (10) for the extraction of water from a wet paper or cardboard web (12) has a suction system (14,16) at one side of the moving web, to apply a vacuum to it. The other side of the web is covered by an air-impermeable belt (18) where suction is applied. At the web water extraction stage, the covering belt has an air permeability of 0-100 cfm and preferably 0-30 cfm. The web is carried by a supporting fourdrinier (20) at the side towards the suction system, traveling together. An absorbent belt to hold extracted water can travel with the web, between it and the impermeable covering belt, which has a greater absorbency than the covering belt. The suction system is composed of a flat suction unit (14) and/or a suction roller (16), which can form a roller press gap with a counter roller. The web can move through the roller press gap together with the absorbent belt. Bei einer Vorrichtung zur Entwässerung einer Faserstoffbahn wie insbesondere einer Papier- oder Kartonbahn sind auf einer Seite der Faserstoffbahn Saugmitteln zur Beaufschlagung der laufenden Faserstoffbahn mit Vakuum angeordnet. Auf der von den Saugmitteln abgewandten Seite der Faserstoffbahn ist ein umlaufendes Deckband vorgesehen, das die betreffende Seite der Faserstoffbahn zumindest teilweise abdeckt.
