Zusammenfassung:The transmitter coil (24) has a coil core formed of a winding including wrapped coil (40) and return coil (42) portions. The wrapped coil portion wraps around a section of the circumference of a projectile adjacent a receiver coil (14) contained in the projectile (16). The return coil portion extends from a first end to a second end 180[deg]apart of the wrapped coil portion and is formed at 90[deg] to the wrapped coil portion. The transmitter coil forms an L-shaped cross-section that eliminates counter magnetic field due to the return coil portion being at right angles to the wrapped coil portion. An independent claim is included for a projectile fuze setting system having a fuze setter (10) with a controller (20) connected to a transmitter (22) and a receiver (26), each of which are connected to a first coil that is part of a resonant LC circuit, that is tuned for resonance by adjusting its capacitance. The system also includes an electronic fuze (12) with a second coil that is arranged to be inductively coupled to the first coil to provide two-way communication with the controller of the fuze setter. The fuze setter may transmit using a pulse width modulated signal. The fuze may include a switch which adjusts its impedance so that it causes a current fluctuation in the first coil and the LC resonant circuit, that can be used to derive a pulse code modulated return (talkback) signal.
