The filter has a charge which corresponds to the charge of the components to be removed. Preferred Features: The filter is negatively charged. The filter consists of a bed consisting of charged particles. The particles are gel-like, preferably a cation exchanger. The filter can be back-flushed with water or an aqueous solution to regenerate it.
