The inkjet printer has a heatable support plate (8) for a recording medium, especially paper. The support plate is mounted so that it can expand and contract in the plate plane. The support plate is mounted at right angles to the plate plane by a screw (56) holding it without play to the printer. The support plate may be held in a holding mechanism, resting against a holding member (10) in a frame of the printer.
