Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a process for purifying flue gases based on wet scrubbing with calcium carbonate or calcium hydrogen carbonate which can be chiefly used for relatively small furnaces and boiler units. The aim of the invention is to achieve a marked reduction of the discharges of dust and sulphur dioxide, in particular in the case of fuels having high pollutant contents, such as raw brown coal, an economic operation and high reliability having to be achieved. According to the invention, the object is achieved by separating off the coarse dust fractions before wet scrubbing and feeding the same to a post-reaction vessel in which the thin sludge taken off from the pulp circulation tank is mixed, with stirring, with the coarse fractions, during which the fly ash is leached and a sludge which is easy to treat in the following separation apparatus is produced.
