PURPOSE: To provide a reloadable ink cartridge which allows easy reloading and refilling of a ribbon to an ink ribbon cartridge by providing a refillable ink ribbon cartridge including an adaptor provided with a driving mechanism and a replacable ink ribbon feeding unit. CONSTITUTION: A refillable ink ribbon cartridge 1 includes a housing adaptor 13 and a replacable ink ribbon feeding cassette unit 20. The adaptor 13 is designed in such a way that it can be permanently inserted in a typewriter or a printer and on the other hand, the cassette 20 is disposable and is replaced after the ink ribbon is consumed. Mechanical parts which are needed for driving and stretching the ribbon are stored in the adaptor 13. At the same time, the cassette stores the min. no. of individual parts. When the ribbon supply 40 has been depleted, the adaptor 13 remains in the typewriter, but the depleted refill unit is removed and a new cassette is replaced quickly and easily into the housing.
