Zusammenfassung:	DNA sequences, recombinant DNA molecules and hosts transformed with them which produce antigenic polypeptides of FMDV and replicate virus specific nucleotide sequences coding therefor and methods of making and using these molecules, hosts. DNA sequences and antigenic polypeptides. The DNA sequences and recombinant DNA molecules of this invention are characterized by DNA inserts that code for at least one FMDV antigenic polypeptide. In hosts capable of expressing these polypeptides, these DNA sequences and recombinant DNA molecules permit the replication and identification of virus specific nucleotide sequences and the production and identification of antigenic polypeptides and their use in compositions and methods for rendering animals resistant to FMDV at least for some period of time.
