Zusammenfassung:METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MULTISECTION CABLE CORE WITH INTERMETALLIC COMPOUND-BASED SUPER CONDUCTING COATING According to the invention, a barrier layer is applied onto the ends of each core blank prior to the formation of a superconducting layer. The formation of the superconducting layer is followed by a removal of the barrier layers from the core sections, whereupon the sections are welded together along the perimeter. A superconducting layer is then produces by means of diffusion in the welding zones and the adjoining end portions of the sections stripped from the barrier layer, The proposed method makes the strength and superconductivity of the welded joints equal to those of the core sections.
