Zusammenfassung:Organic halogen cpds. are removed from waste gas opt. contg. NOx by contacting the gas with Caro's acid, H2SO5, or a salt, in a fixed or vortex bed. Pref. the waste gas may be made up with SO2, opt. led over a fixed or vortex bed of a solid, and contacted with H2O2, when Caro's acid is formed in situ, or the gas may be led over the bed, which is sprayed with a mixt. of H2O2 and H2SO4. Before introduction into the waste gas stream, the solid is impregnated with H2SO4, and H2O2 is applied, or the solid is impregnated with H2O2 and H2SO4 is applied, or the solid is impregnated or sprayed with an aq. soln. of Caro's acid or a salt.
