The present invention relates to reactive monodisperse microparticles of methyl acrylate type containing 50 to 100 percent by weight of polymerized monomeric units having epoxy groups and originating in monomers being selected from the group comprising glycidyl methacrylate and glycidyl acrylate and up to 50 percent by weight of polymerized monomeric units of monovinyl and/or divinyl co-monomer in the form of non-porous microparticles having diameter within the range of 0.1 to 15 microns. They can be prepared in such a manner that glycidyl methacrylate or glycidyl acrylate is polymerized in a disperse medium of a solvent or a mixture of solvents and water, the solvents being well miscible with the monomer or monomers and being at the same time immiscible with the resulting product, either alone or with another monovinyl and/or divinyl co-monomer at concentration up to 50 percent by weight, based on the reaction mixture, in the presence of azo- or peroxy-initiator at concentration ranging from 0.1 to 8 percent by weight, based on the monomer or monomers and a steric stabilizer at concentration of 0.1 to 10 percent by weight, based on the reaction mixture, whereby amount of water in the reaction mixture |
