Further, there is detected frequency Fi2 of the weft picks as well the length of the picked weft. Subsequently all the detected data are processed to determine the liquid consumption. A measuring apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a flow meter (1), a liquid temperature sensor (5), and a liquid pressure sensor (6). It further comprises input device of data relating to frequency fi2 of the weft picks as well as an input device for the length of the picked weft. The invention concerns a method for determining consumption of fluid by a picking device of a jet loom weft where the flow rate of the liquid, its temperature, and pressure are monitored. In addition, the F2 frequency of the weft picks and the length of the picked weft are monitored. All detected data is processed to determine the liquid consumption. The measuring apparatus consists of a flow meter (1), a liquid temperature sensor (5) and a liquid pressure sensor (6), as well as input device for data on the f2 frequency of the weft picks and input device for data on the length of the picked weft.
