In the present invention there are disclosed rac-isopropyl-(2-methoxyethyl)-4-(2-chloro-3-cyano-phenyl)-1,4-dihydro -2,6-dimethylpyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate of the general formula I and pure enantiomers thereof, further processes of their preparation and their use as medicaments intended particularly for treating cerebral and neuronal diseases, as well as an intermediate for preparing the above indicated compound.
