Zusammenfassung:	The production of polymers with repeating succinyl units (I) comprises (i) reacting an unsaturated 4C dicarboxylic acid or its derivative (A) with a nitrogen-supplying compound (B) to give a mixture containing low-molecular weight reaction product(s) and/or prepolymer(s) of (A) and (B), then (ii) transferring to a continuous reactor and reacting at 140-350 degrees C to give polymer (I) with a mol. wt. (Mw) of more than 1300.
