4-0-METHYL-ALPHA-D-GLUCORONO-BETA-D-XYLAN-O-PHOSPHATE,ITS POTASSIUM AND SODIUM SALT AND METHOD OF PRODUCTION

The purpose of the solution consists in preparation of new compounds of (4-0-methyl-α-D-glucorono)-β-D-xylane-0-phosphate, its potassium and sodium salt based on basic structural formulae I, II, or III, where R1 to R5 have the above mentioned meaning, and where the substitution degree is 0.3 to 1.2. The above mentioned purpose is achieved in the following way: (4-0-methyl-α-D-glucorono)-β-D-xylane is activated by methanoic acid, trifluoromethanoic acid or dimethyl formamide for a period of 5 to 15 minutes at a temperature of 5 to 20 degrees C and is subsequently modified by phosphoric acid for a period of 15 min to 5 hours at a temperature of 5 to 20 degrees C, where the mutual weight ratio of (4-0-Methyl-α-D-glucorono)-β-D-xylane, solvent and phosphoric acid is 1:20 to 30:1 to 5, or is possibly alkalized by 1 to 2 mol/l water or water-ethanol solution with potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide to a pH value ranging from 10 to 10.5 and subsequently processed using known methods. The (4-0-Methyl-α-D-glucorono)-β-D-xylane-0-phosphate, its potassium and sodium salt can be used in medicine, pharmaceutical industry, in production of flocculants and adjuvants in textile industry.
