SINKER CAP

This invention relates to a sinker ring cover of a single cylinder circular knitting machine for the production of hosiery goods, wherein there are fixed interior cams (9) and movable exterior cams (71) embraced by an annular spring (8). The invention provides cam positioning so that the sinkers press on the fabric with a constant pressure for any fabric density, which is achieved by the movable exterior cams (71) being placed in the lid (11) on guiding pins (13) without stops, the cams (71) pressing the sinker butts against the cams (9) before the pins (13) reach the end of their guiding slots, but when there is fabric on the needles the spring (8) does not achieve such engagement between the sinker butts and the cams (9).
