Zusammenfassung:	Catalyst compositions, which contain a Group VIII metal and a bisphosphine with the general formula (R )2P-R -P(R )2 in which R represents an aryl group containing at least one alkoxy substituent at the ortho position relative to the phosphorus atom to which the aryl group is linked and in which R is a divalent bridge group containing just three carbon atoms in the bridge, of which the central carbon atom forms part of a -CHR - group in which R represents a monovalent substituent comprising carbon, hydrogen and optionally oxygen. They are suitable for the preparation of copolymers of carbon monoxide and olefinically unsaturated compounds.
