Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a ribbed metal-sheet casing for a rotating electric machine, the curved portion of which is a steel-sheet susjected to bending. The cooling ribs on the steel-sheet is shaped by compressing and folding the steel-sheet. The objective of the invention is to provide a ribbed metal-sheet casing which should meet the reguirements on mechanical strength and cooling effect. Furthermore, in order to meet the urgent need of the mass production of conventional induction motor, it should be simple in technical process for making the casing and low in production cost. The objective can be achieved by the invention. According to the invention, the cuved portion of the casing is composed of a prismatic surface on which there are n side faces and n represents the number of the cooling ribs arranged on the prismatic surface.
