Zusammenfassung:	An endoscope device includes: an endoscope for imaging an examinee by using a solid state imaging element and outputting an imaging signal; and a processor for processing the imaging signal to generate HDTV and SDTV serial digital video signal and selectively switching to one of them for serial output. The serial digital video signal selectively switched by the processor is outputted via a first connector. The processor includes a judgment signal generation unit for generating an HDTV/SDTV judging signal capable of identifying the HDTV or SDTV serial digital video signal in cooperation with the selective switching of the HDTV or the SDTV serial digital video signal. The judgment signal is outputted via a second connector which is different from the first connector.
