The supporting seat 1 rotates around the square pin 11, the ratchet wheel 6 or the connecting rod 5 which is fixedly connected with the ratchet wheel 6 are driven by the spring 2, the pawl 3 to rotate, and thus the distance between the straight pin 8 and the square spin 11 which are connected with the connecting rod 5 is shorten. The automatic compensator is applied to a brake; by using the movement relation of the brake itself, the automatic compensator can automatically compensate the reduction of a reserved travel 19 of a pusher 18 due to the wear of a friction plate 20.
