Zusammenfassung: | The utility model discloses a polarized optical splitter or coupler, comprising elements arranged along a longitudinal axis, namely, a dual fiber collimator arranged at one end of the longitudinal axis, a single fiber collimator arranged at the other end of the longitudinal axis and a first optical wedge and a second optical wedge, similar in shape and arranged between the two collimators. The bevels of the two wedges are adjacent and parallel; the right-angle side corresponding to the bevel of each wedge is opposite to one collimator. One of the two optical wedges is made from isotropic medium and the other is made from a birefringent crystal. The isotropic medium of one wedge is much lower in price than the birefringent crystal of the other wedge and is easier for production, therefore the cost of the whole apparatus is much reduced and the extinction ratio can be more than 60dB. |
