The outer part of a probe of a detecting instrument is provided with a sealed chamber which is communicated with the probe. After the sealed chamber is vacuated, working gases are charged into the sealed chamber, and an isotope radioactive source irradiates outside a window. The operating status of the detecting instrument is affirmed based on the pulse signals of an oscillograph. The utility model overcomes the deficiencies of time consuming, labor consuming, high power consumption and high danger of the prior art.
