A detection device is used for detecting the outer side face of a workpiece and comprises a moving mechanism, a light source module and a linear array imaging module. The moving mechanism is arranged opposite to the linear array imaging module and used for bearing the workpiece, driving the workpiece to move in a profiling mode according to the shape of the workpiece and enabling the outer side face of the workpiece and the linear array imaging module to keep a preset distance.
