Dual heat exchanger with integrated diverter valve

A heat exchanger assembly includes a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger integrated with a thermally actuated control valve assembly, the thermally actuated control valve assembly having a first surface and a second surface, the first heat exchanger and the heat exchanger being attached side by side to the first surface and the second surface in different orientations from each other, including 90 degrees and 180 degrees to each other. The valve assembly has two fluid ports for connection to an external fluid source, and two fluid ports in fluid communication with the inlet and outlet manifolds of each heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may be a transmission oil heater and a transmission oil cooler, and the valve assembly controls the transmission oil flowing to the heat exchanger as a function of the temperature of the oil.
