An automatic centering and positioning mechanism of a welding gun head cleaning machine comprises a mounting base plate, a rotating cam rotationally connected to the mounting base plate, a gun inserting barrel fixed to the mounting base plate and a driving mechanism driving the rotating cam to rotate, and a cam hole is formed in the rotating cam in the axial direction. The inner ring of the gun inserting barrel is a gun inserting hole located in the same center as the rotating cam, a plurality of movable clamping blocks are slidably connected to the gun inserting barrel in the radial direction of the gun inserting barrel, and a plurality of driving curved surfaces used for driving all the movable clamping blocks to move in the direction close to the center of the gun inserting hole are arranged on the hole wall of the cam hole. The multiple movable clamping blocks and the multiple driving curved surfaces form a linkage structure which drives all the movable clamping blocks to be close to the center of the gun
