An image sensor and a circuit for the image sensor are provided. The image sensor may include an image sensor pixel array. Each image sensor pixel in the array may be a global shutter pixel includinga first transistor and a second transistor substantially larger than the first transistor. The second transistor may receive a row control signal from a peripheral row driver formed at an edge of thearray. Each pixel may also include a local driver circuit interposed between the peripheral row driver and the second transistor. Each local driver circuit may include a pull-down transistor for driving a row control signal to a low level and a pull-up transistor for driving the row control signal to a high level. Each local driver may optionally be shared between two or more adjacent pixels in agiven row.
