When a floor sill groove becomes narrower in the barrier-free development, a landing door comes across a barrier because of increased friction between a guide part and the sill groove along with increase on draft pressure. The elevator is provided with a door plate (10) used for opening and closing an exit and an entrance of an elevator floor, a sill (13) arranged below the door plate (10) and provided with a groove (12) parallel to the moving direction of a door, a guide part (14) moving in the groove (12) of the sill (13) and having a rotary shaft in a vertical direction, and a bearing (15) arranged at the door plate (10). The guide part (14) is supported at the position higher than the upper surface of the sill (13).
