An ion generation device comprises a body, a face cover, a circuit control box, an electrostatic atomization device, an ion discharge opening, a running indication lamp and an annular counter bored hole, the body is buried in a ceiling, a flange is arranged on the lower portion of the body, the face cover is arranged on the lower portion of the body and is provided with an air inlet and an air outlet, the circuit control box is arranged on the upper portion of the body, the electrostatic atomization device is arranged in the body and provided with generation ions, the ions sent by the electrostatic atomization device are discharged out of the ion discharge opening, the running indication lamp is arranged on the body, and the annular counter bored hole is formed in the position, corresponding to the running indication lamp, of the face cover. A plurality of protruding portions composed of first protruding portions and second protruding portions are arranged at the positions, away from the periphery of the face cover, of the face cover, a plurality of openings clamped with the protruding portions are formed in the flange of the body, and the protruding height of the first protruding portions is larger than that of the second protruding portions. The ion generation device has the advantage of being provided with the safer and thin face cover.
