The bed comprises a lying surface (2) and a height adjusting device (21), wherein the height adjusting device is coupled with the lying surface (2) and used for adjusting the vertical position of the lying surface (2); the bed is characterized in that the height adjusting device comprises an operating element (7). The height adjusting device (21) designed in the manner can apply at least one part of lift force to lift the lying surface (2) when the operating element (7) is operated to lift the lying surface (2).
