The butterfly plate is fixed to the center of the valve body by the aid of the valve shaft, a sealing ring is arranged at a joint of the valve body and the butterfly plate, the inside of the sealing ring is of a hollow structure, and the section of the sealing ring is 'omega'-shaped. The novel center butterfly valve has the advantages that loss of elasticity of the sealing ring due to liquid erosion can be assuredly prevented, accordingly, the leakproofness of the valve can be improved, and the service life of the valve can be prolonged.
