Zusammenfassung:	The utility model provides a reciprocating piston pump with improved inlet valve arrangement. A valve component can move between an open position and a closed position by virtue of liquid force, wherein the head of the valve component is separated from a valve base on the open position, and the head of the valve component is contacted with the valve base on the closed position. The valve component comprises a valve rod; the valve rod does not block liquid which flows through the inlet of the valve. When the valve is closed, the head, which is contacted with the valve base, of the valve component is in a spherical shape or a frustum shape. The valve component is made from polymer materials. The inlet valve does not adopt a bias component for bringing the valve component to the closed position.
