The electric pencil sharpener comprises a power supply, a motor, a resistor, an indicator light, blades and a switch, wherein the anode of the power supply is connected with one end of the motor, the other end of the motor is connected with one end of the switch, the other end of the switch is connected with one end of the resistor, the other end of the resistor is connected with one end of the indicator light, the other end of the indicator light is connected with the other end of the power supply, and a blade group composed of the three blades is connected with the rotary shaft of the motor. When the switch is switched on, the motor starts to rotate, so that the blade group is driven to move to sharpen a pencil, and meanwhile, the operating state of the device is displayed by the indicator light.
