The system consists of a data processing server and a vehicle-mounted terminal, wherein the data processing server is used for receiving real-time running information data of a line locomotive, extracting the information data of a second locomotive and a third locomotive positioned at the front side and the rear side of a first locomotive from the data, and transmits the information data of the second and third locomotives, the vehicle-mounted terminal is positioned on the first locomotive and be used for receiving the information data of the second and third locomotives and displaying the data. By utilizing the locomotive running information state processing system, a driver can know the speed, train number and the distance of locomotives at the front side and the rear side in time, and initiatively process the dangerous situations as required in time so as to effectively avoid occurrence of tailgating accidents.
