A sleeve type garbage can with an adjustable height is characterized in that: the sleeve type garbage is composed of a plurality of layers of thin-wall sleeves with elasticity; a downmost layer is provided with a bottom; and the rest sleeves are not provided with a bottom; a diameter of each upper sleeve is slightly larger than that of a lower sleeve; an inner projection on a lower inner wall of each sleeve and an outer projection on an upper outer wall of a lower sleeve form a pair of elastic buckles; and the outer wall of the bottom of each sleeve is provided with a snap ring which is used for buckling the upper sleeve. The sleeve type garbage can is advantageous in that: the height of the garbage can is adjustable for matching the plastic bags with different sizes; and the ring walls of the sleeves except for the downmost sleeve are respectively provided with a rectangular hollow part so as to save material and promoting the low-carbon life.
