The rotor core of the prior rare earth permanent magnet synchronous motor is formed by laminating rotor sheets. The efficient and energy-saving rare earth permanent magnet synchronous motor adopted by the utility model comprises a stator and a rotor; the rotor comprises a main shaft, a permanent magnet, a cast-steel rotor core, an end plate, a slot wedge, a cushion block and a cushion strip; a magnetic shield is connected between the main shaft and the permanent magnet; the permanent magnet is placed in a permanent magnet groove of the cast-steel rotor core and fixed by the slot wedge and the end plate; and the main shaft and the cast-steel rotor core adopt the technical scheme of shrink fits. The utility model has the advantages that the starting torque is large; the overload capacity is strong; and compared with an induction motor with same specifications, the ove
