Lens drive device and pickup device adopting the lens drive device

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens driving device which is made compact and low-cost by decreasing the number of components, and also to provide an imaging device using the same. SOLUTION: The lens driving device of the present invention comprises a magnetic member 17 which has a lens driving mechanism arranged at the outer circumference of a movable lens barrel 13 and a fixed member 7 which holds a coil 12 facing the magnetic member 17 across a prescribed gap. The movable lens barrel 13 at an initial position can slide and move in one direction as a magnetic field produced by supplying electric power to the coil 12 operates on the magnetic member 17, and abuts against a third yoke 11 as an abutting part formed on the fixed member 7 when sliding and moving in the one direction, so that its movement is restricted.
