Paper currency identification device

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bank note identification system with low error identification even if there are noises at specific positions of a bank note. SOLUTION: The bank note identification system comprises an inlet 22 for inserting the bank note 1, a channel 23 connected with the inlet 22, a conveying means 24 installed in the channel 23, an optical sensor 27 disposed on the wall surface of the channel 23, amplifiers 28, 29 connected to the output of the optical sensor 27, an A/D converter 30 connected to the outputs of the amplifiers 28, 29, an identification section 41 connected to the output of the A/D converter 30, and an output terminal 42 connected to the identification section 41. The identification section 41 conducts identification based on the data by figuring out the sum of data of specific positions of the bank note 1 and specific area outputted by the A/D converter 30, thereby accomplishing the end desired.
