System and method for realizing regional broadcast

The method broadcasts the various defined programs toward a defined area via the multiplexer. It includes: providing an area management device (AM); configuring the physical area (PA) info and related logic area (LA) info in the broadcast system according to the operator's instruction; deciding the relationship between PA and LA; the program source device configures the broadcast destination area for each program; when the program time is due, the program source sends the program to the multiplexer. The broadcasted media flow includes id of the defined LA of broadcasting this program. When receiving the media info sending from the program source device, the multiplexer draws LA id from the media flow. According to the relation configured by AM between LA and PA, the multiplexer finds the related PA. Then the multiplexer broadcasts toward the emitting station of this PA. Thus, the multi-media broadcast content broadcasting toward the defined area is realized.
