Detecting device and method for elevator car position

The present invention is car position detecting device and method for elevator. The detecting device includes several sensing elements in the elevator car, and triggering elements in different stories and one-to-one corresponding to the sensing elements. The triggering elements are combined in different modes at least in three near stories. The detecting method includes the following steps: to select the story N for the car to be stopped, for the sensing elements to sense the signal of the triggering element combination and to adjust the position of the car for aligning to some story X, to compare X and N, to stop the car when X is equal to N, or to add 1 to X or subtract 1 from X to obtain X1, to compare X1 and N, and to ascend or descend the car by one story when X1 is equal to N. The present invention is simple, convenient and safe.
