Method of producing ginseng total saponin or American ginseng total saponin and its product

The present invention relates to a method for producing ginseng total saponin or American ginseng total saponin. Said method includes the following steps: 1), leaching stem and/or leaf of ginseng or American ginseng to obtain extract; 2), concentrating said extract, alkalifying, standing still and filtering; 3), neutralizing filtrate obtained by step (2) and further concentrating said filtrate; 4), separating out crude product total saponin from the concentrate; 5), making the crude product total saponin undergo the process of alcohol separation; 6), desalting and decolouring the filtrate obtained after alcohol separation; and 7), removing ethyl alcohol and drying to obtain extract.
