Stack of bags

A stack (2) of pre-formed bags (3), each bag (3) of the stack (2) comprising: a body portion (4) formed by front (5) and rear walls having closed sides (6), a closed bottom (7) and an open mouth (8); spaced apart handles (10, 12) extending from the body portion (4); and front and rear tabs (14) extending from the front (5) and rear walls respectively, the tabs (14) being located between the handles (10, 12), wherein the front and rear tabs (14) are separably attached to the handles (10, 12) at attachment points (18,19) spaced from the mouth (8) of the bag (3)the arrangement being such that a bag can be removed from the stack without leaving any waste material behind. Successive bags may be separably held together by adhesive, corona discharge treatment and/or cold pin welds (22). The tabs (14) may be cut away (17a, 17b) in the region of the mouth (8). The attachment points (18,19) may comprise perforations between the tabs and inward projections (11,13) of the handles. The stack may be housed in a box or bag.
